N-Cone Sponge Collagen

Sponge "N-Cone" consists of lyophilized collagen, which by its nature has hemostatic properties. The hemostatic activity of the collagen sponge is due to its high porosity, which promotes blood absorption with simultaneous platelet aggregation and the subsequent process of its coagulation. When the wound surface comes into contact with collagen, platelet coagulation factors are released, further platelet aggregation occurs, which adhere to previously fixed cells, which leads to the formation of the fibrin clot and closure of the injury site.

Bone growth stimulants included in sponge "N-Cone" (with calcium phosphate): tricalcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite contribute to the mineralization and restoration of bone tissue architectonics, have radiopacity.

The effectiveness of the antimicrobial sponge "N-Cone" (with chlorhexidine and metronidazole) caused by the presence in its composition components: chlorhexidine and metronidazole.

Metronidazole has antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity against anaerobic protozoa and bacteria. The mechanism of action consists in restoring biochemical nitro metronidazole and their further interaction with the cellular DNA of microorganisms that inhibit nucleic acid synthesis and leading to death of the bacteria.

Chlorhexidine, a part of the sponge is active against a broad spectrum of vegetative forms gram negative and gram positive organisms, yeast and lipophilic viruses. The bactericidal  effect  caused  by  the  binding  of  cations  resulting  from  dissociation  of chlorhexidine in a physiological medium with the negatively-charged phosphate groups of the bacterial cell membrane and extra-microbial complexes.

Part of the sponge "N-Cone" (with lincomycin), lincomycin, inhibits the synthesis of proteins in microorganisms, providing a bacteriostatic and bactericidal action. It is effective against gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma.

Sponge "N-Cone" does not have the local irritating and bio-toxic action, stimulates the regeneration of tissues in the healing stage. Does not require the intervention of the doctor to remove it, resorbs in a few days.
